Tax Deadlines for 2022
January 17, 2023 – Fourth Estimated Tax Payment for 2022.
January 31, 2023 – Form W2, Form 1099-NEC, and Form 1099-MISC to employees, independent contractors, the IRS, and the Social Security Administration.
March 1, 2023 – Knox County Tangible Personal Property Reports.
March 15, 2023 – Form 1065 and Form 1120S – General Partnerships, Limited Liability Partnerships, LLCs taxed as Partnerships, and S Corporations Federal Tax Return.
April 1, 2023 – Tennessee Annual Report for businesses with a Dec. 31 year end.
April 18, 2023 – Form 1120, Form 1040, and Form 1041 – C Corporations, Individuals, Estates and Trusts Federal Income Tax Returns.
April 18, 2023 – Tennessee Franchise & Excise Tax Return
April 18, 2023 – First Estimated Tax Payment for 2023 (Form 1040ES)
April 18, 2023 – Final IRA contributions for 2022
April 18, 2023 – Business Tax Returns with the Tennessee Department of Revenue for calendar year taxpayers. This return renews your Business License for another year.
June 15, 2023 – Second Estimated Tax Payment for 2023 (Form 1040ES).
September 15, 2023 – Third Estimated Tax Payment for 2023 (Form 1040ES).
September 15, 2023 – Final Deadline for General Partnerships, LLCs, LLP Partnerships, and S Corporations that filed extensions for Forms 1065 and 1120S.
October 2, 2023 – Final Deadline for Estates and Trusts that filed extensions for Form 1041.
October 16, 2023 – Final Deadline for C Corporations and Individual Federal Income Tax Returns that filed extensions for Form 1120 or Form 1040.
January 16, 2024 – Fourth Estimated Tax Payment for 2023 (Form 1040ES).
In late December 2022, the IRS announced a delay in the implementation of the new $600 threshold for Form 1099-K reporting. For tax year 2022, 1099-Ks will only be issued if total payments exceed $20,000 or more than 200 transactions occur. Taxpayers are still required to report any income derived from third party payment organizations (Venmo, PayPal, etc…) regardless of the amount.
